It was 44 years ago today...
I saw my first Purple gig at Bristol Colston Hall. I was never the same again. In fact, it was my first live show by any band - what a start. I was 13 years old and my musical tastes have broadened an awful lot since then but my love for Deep Purple will never wane. Thanks, chaps.

I saw my first deep purple show 1975, the mk III lineup.
In a packed Scandinavium arena in Gothenburg.
We were 35 kids from a small town 250 km north of G. We hired a bus actually, on our own.

Nice one. Catching Tommy has to have been special.

Re: It was 44 years ago today...
My first Deep Purple concert was in Oslo 1993. 25 years ago this year.
Unaware at the time, only later I realized how lucky I was to see the mkII line up at their very end.
And no less because I discovered Deep Purple in 1987, at the age of 14, two weeks too late for their gig in Oslo that year, which I soon heard was exceptionally great even for Deep Purple standards.

That's really cool. I missed that period completely and only realised how fine it was in retrospect.
