Doesn't really seem to be worthwhile to me. IG hasn't been able to sing y=for years, RB is not the player he was, and we have lost the great Jon Lord.
Seems a lot of fuss about nothing.
Couldn’t agree more none of the band are remotely close to what they were apart from RG.

Re: This is intereresting.......
It's not only about musicianship or virtuoso performance, it's also about the good feeling of listening and watching Mark 8 performing with Ritchie, or even better to be joined by David, Glenn, Satriani, JLT and Simper on stage for the very last time.

Re:
Ritchie says that as soon as the management is involved, it gets complicated. Therefore my suggestion would be to do it on a low-key basis. Not in a hall with 20.000 seats, but in a small club, under another name than "DP". Of course that would be a quite weird solution, but this is the only way I can see it happen.

But JL wanted this before he died and IG & RG refused to even discuss it. Why would it happen now?

Once again, I don't think that is the point. The deal would be for a one-off MKII show, not a MKVIII with Ritchie guesting. Adding the others would totally change the dynamic. I think that Rick Wakeman should fill the shoes of Jon Lord for this. I realize that DA and Ritchie have a history, but Wakeman would be the choice for this. It would be perfect if they do this in Japan, just because of their history there. Maybe a couple of dates to honor MIJ and kind of bring things full circle.
I think that your idea would great for one last set of concerts. Maybe a couple of cities in the States where they always did well and in Europe where they still do real well. This would be a great way for DP to finish its career. As IG would say, bring the proceedings to an end.

Ritchie says: One show.

Gillan will not allow Morse to be sideline, even for one night only.

Re: This is intereresting.......
Instead of a show, I'd much rather see Ritchie, Ian, Roger and Ian sitting in a studio answering questions about MKII.
