Maybe the audience were very familiar with the three songs recorded since 1984 and just didn't think they were very good? Just maybe not every member of the audience thinks that Uncommon Man or Time For Bedlam is a good song?
There is always that possibility?

Re: I saw DP in Mansfield, Mass on Sunday

As for Deep Purple's last album(CD), here in the part of the U.S. where I live, I've only seen one copy in a Best Buy store(which I bought because it had the DVD). I've not seen a copy in any other store, not even WalMart.

I bought my copy at Walmart here in Toledo, along with Now What. They had a few there. There is always a decent selection of DP stuff there, usually best of's and Machine Head Re-machined, etc.

If you track the set lists over the last leg of the tour, you can see they're *trying* to play the new songs, as they started out with a bunch of them in the set. But if the audience is reacting badly, their first (and only) job is to please the audience, so the new songs get dropped and the MH songs creep back in.

It must be really frustrating for them.

I hope they're not completely discouraged by the time they play the UK, and they put some new songs back in.

If you could be honest for one time.. and realise this happens to ALL artists. The old classics are the songs that goes down best.
We all know this for christ sake!

I hope that´s problem only for North American Tour... I hope that second part of European Tour is going to be set into Infinite promotion tour again - like previous European leg was. It´s really huge difference in attitude towards the band.

BTW: I know that´s about people around us, but most of us were exciting about hearing Infinite material and Uncommon Man (which is really marvelous live song!)... and it didnt disappoint. Surprising, Birds Of Prey, UM and from oldies Bloodsucker were highlights!

Hopefully by the time of the UK shows the Infinite songs are back in the set. Maybe Johnny's Band too ass this received plenty of airplay on the radio.

Yes it does.
From your post it suggests that by asking me to be honest for one time, that you think that I have dishonest previously.
Where do you feel that I have been dishonest?

Re: I saw DP in Mansfield, Mass on Sunday

It is not always necessary to know a song before a show.
last weekend I went to see AYREON in Tilburg and I somehow missed out on listening beforehand to new tracks.

Its harder to get into but I sure did enjoy stuff I did not know

In the late 60ies and early 70ies you didn't have to know any song of the band before you went to a concert. You jusst enjoyed the joy if it was done by talented artists. So they were able to play 30 minute versions of Wring that neck or Mandrake root.
