WTF????
I notice a lot of tracks are listed as the "2017 version" so have they re-recorded this stuff, or maybe changed the solos, or is it the usual "re-mix" crap that might sound different on a $100,000 monitor but basically sounds just the same on the car stereo?!!
" Ye Olde Pension Pot Enhancer" , they should make that the title for their next CD of wonders!

Re: Blackmore's Night compilation
Just noticed there is a version of I Surrender with Candice singing. Same backing track used for Rainbow single. So along with Land of Hope and Glory were these already recorded and Ronnie asked to substitute vocals?

Listened to Moonlight Shadow, gone is the strat. Just like the concert I saw.

Re: Blackmore's Night compilation
I heard Writing On The Wall.
It's heavier than the original. Recording sounds like new IS.
It's 1 minute shorter
And it's baaaaddddddd
Uninspired Blackmore, no fluent playing
The original is much better

Doesn't this just illustrate yet again how little regard Blackmore actually has for his fan base. Doing this, same track, different singers, surely show how little he really cares about it. He knows his fan-boys would accept and buy the steam of his sh1te, so that's exactly what he now gives them! As a Blackmore fan, you need to enjoy being taken for a complete mug, because that's how Blackmore operates entirely now. It never used to be so obvious but now its just totally clear. Its got to be disappointing and should signal time to retire for Blackmore.

I bought this because I always loved the original but hated that disco effect. I remember a comment from Ritchie that he really liked that track but didn't like what the producer did with it and they were redoing it for the compilation so they could have it closer to their original vision. But wow, it was really disappointing. Very uninspired.

Your logic is faulty. If he gives his fan-boys what they want to buy, then surely that shows he has a great regard for them?
I mean, he may have little regard for you, BSB, but you're obviously not one of his fan-boys (as I deduce from your own argument of what fan-boys are like).

Re: Blackmore's Night compilation
he basically does what suits him and sod everyone else. no change there, you either accept it or not.
I agree I found little enjoyment in these new versions. particularly WOTW, the original was ok. Would love to hear an official live release from the 97/98 period.
there were some amazing solos.

Like I said Daivd, Blackmore sh1ts golden nuggets, and fans, just like yourself, are happy to buy them, so that's absolutely fine by me. If you think Blackmore gives a rats f*ck for his fans that's your choice, a lifetime of evidence would suggest otherwise, but hey ho, there you go!
