I like it. RAW power and the band is a lot tighter r than in the german shows. Ritchie stil the one that makes the most mistakes.. But I really like his solo's in CIT, difficult to cure and mistreated.

Listen to Birmingham first, then Dusseldorf 95. Nuff said.

One shows a profesional hard rock band in full flight with a guitarist who's on the money in a way that sometimes gives you chills. Just compare the difference in guitar sound. Authoritative, aggressive.

The other recording shows a group of players who should never have been allowed anywhere near the Rainbow catalog. Most profesisonal pub musicians are more solid. Keith and Nouveau may work in BN but they're desperately out of their depth here and any amount of rehearsals won't change this.

Romero is down right bad too. This leaves RB and Jens who are in there somewhere.

The saddest release from the DP family so far.

Can't relate to your opinion. You are absolutely wrong in my eyes. Go and listen to Dusseldorf. Bye. Keep on living in the past. More comfortable for you.

Keep on living in the past? LOL! You crack me up! You are discussing a bootleg by your over the hill long gone guitar hero, and you tell people who dare critizise him to keep on living in the past? Good one!

The truth is that Blackmore has been away from hard rock for way to long so he can't keep up (yes, he is old, but so is Clapton, Beck, Richards...), and his current version of Blackmores Night/ Rainbow can't even keep up with what Blackmore is offering today.

It may be fun for Blackmore and his accountant, but I cringe!

Yes I think you are exactly right here.

Brainwashing is a marvellous thing ...........

The less brain you have the more effective it usually is.......

Being detached from reality is an interesting state.............

It allows one to believe things that are actually neither true nor correct nor have any foundation in reality...............

Welcome to the fantasy world of the Blackmore fan-boy, where skies are blues, clouds are candy floss and everyone is happy listening to their hero who is perfect in every way, word, note and deed.

Get a grip dude you're about to see a now pensioner, once but no longer the finest player / showman ever, play a very average, even almost amateur, show with what most people seem to feel is a very average band( which I disagree with, but that's another story!) and for which you will be paying a very professional amount of ticket money for!! That's reality.

Re: Birmingham on CD now

Jesus Christ - I'm always shocked how much hate is in some people's minds. Really. It's frightening.

1) Last year's Rock shows demonstrated nothing. If you've followed his BN activities a little bit, you knew what he was able to do on the guitar. The high expectations of people are not Ritchie's fault, it's their own fault. They just live in the past. Ritchie's strat playing is different these days, but not worse. And you said that yourself a few times. You change your opinion like your underwear anyway. From positive to negative, depending on your daily mood I guess.

2) The Return to Rock was pushed and hyped by the media, not by Ritchie. He just announced 3 dates and he said right from the beginning: "I don't take it seriously, it's just having fun and jamming". Nothing else! It's purely the fault by the media and the fans themselves. They created this big hype, not Ritchie. He was always very laid-back about it.

3) The new singles are just a spontanious which was done in the studio while recording the next BN CD. Ritchie said from the beginning that he has no intentions to record a new Rainbow album anymore. The singles-thing was a spontanious thing that just happened in the studio. Not too much effort was put into it. People took it too seriously it seems.

4) The Birmingham CD is what it is. It was never planned to record this show, but it was released as a soundboard recording last year and many fans asked for a release in the rest of the world. It's no cash grab, I know that many fans asked for this and now they got it. They put some work into the recording, but you can't make a Live album like Stuttgart 93 out of a dry soundboard recording. Also there's a note on the back cover about that. So everybody can decide whether buying it or not. Very simple, isn't it?

5) I wake up every morning and I realize different things. Rainbow is a fun thing for Blackmore. It's nostalgia, it's playing with good friends, it was never his intention to build another big Rainbow line-up with this, it's just going out, having fun and playing the old hits. You're obviously taking it much more serious than he does. For him it's just fun, nothing else. No intentions of big touring, no intentions of another milestone-record. You should wake up obviously.

The last sentence you wrote is one of the rudest things you ever wrote here. If you think you can tell Blackmore to leave the stage, I'd rather tell you something... But I won't do that. I'm happy he's still playing. If you don't like f*** off.

Hmmm, you reckon Dude.....

Read it again Dude........

Seems like there is a lot of reality in there:-
1) Blackmore is 72, mostly seen as a pensioner by most at that age.
2) Last Years shows were very average, by his standards.
3) You are paying professional level ticket money to see the show.

I'm not sure HighwayFrog what has upset you in any of that, except perhaps it is what is too close to actual reality for you?

Never mind Dude, you just enjoy your illusion while it lasts!
