And so you look them up and find that Scott Gorham is being joined tonight by those well-known musicans Dirk Fingers on keys, Bryce Fretbuster on bass and Blake Hammerer on drums, and you're none the wiser. What's the point?

If i heard a band that i really liked who's music touched me enough to make me want to buy a ticket to see them ,then i would want to find out who the band members are.I mean in this day and age thats a really easy thing to do .If its a well known name band like Thin Lizzy or Uriah Heep then i think its only natural to want to know what the lineup is?isnt it?

It's natural for you. And that's fine. For me and some others obviously not. Maybe it's the same with some other opinions?

Re: A matter of time ...

The main point is, whether the band members in the band are able to fullfill my expectations and whether the show is good or bad. Performance is more important than name - when you go to the clubshow like "Don Airey Band" - it´s just actually relatively unimportant who is the rest with Don - because he is main star. It´s actually just positive suprise to find out who is playing with him... My worst gig ever was Bob Dylan - I dont care about band as Bob was just terrible, they could play better than Cream as musicians, but it was BD who was the main star of the show - and he was bad - period. In case of bad band performances - I have to say that I dont remember what lineup of Jethro Tull I saw in 2004 - I just remember it was major disappointment for me. I also do not remember which lineup of Blackmore´s Night I have seen in 2006 - since the most important memories are related to Ritchie´s incredible mood that night... I have no idea who played with Phill Collins, I have no idea which lineup of Eric Clapton band I saw in 2006, but I do remember that I saw original lineup of AC/DC with Malcolm and "that drummer who has legal issues right now". emoticon I have no idea who played drums on Manzarek-Krieger show I saw in 2011 - I just remember David Brock (who sang that night) - because he stunned me by his "Morrison at his very best" vocal style. In five years after couple of lineup changes, I will not remember which lineup of Whitesnake I have seen (which keyboard player and guitar players) - I know for sure that I´ll remember one thing - how much I prefered Tichy´s drumming during set of support group comparing to Aldridge´s performance. emoticon Also - what I do remember is drummer of Tina Turner and Joe Cocker - because in all cases it was Jack Bruno... and I liked his performance everytime!

The lineup would decide whether i would pay to see them or not.If it were Scott Gorham,Brian Downey,Brian Robertson or John Sykes and Darren Wharton then I would pay to see them as thats as close to authentic as is possible today, but I'm not a fan of tribute bands, thus the problem i have with current DP touring band.

As long as Steve Morse is in the band, it's great, it's heaven, it's doesn't matter who's in the band.

If you replaced Morse, there's gonna be a riot, a rumble, anarchy. emoticon emoticon

I'm just jokin' dudes and gals.

I would like to hear the band with their current instrumentalists and another singer. They should rename the band then, but anyway I'd like to hear them play.
